Download iOS Firmware (IPSW) for iPhone

iOS firmware files for all iPhone models. Select your device to see available IPSW versions.

This page covers 66 iPhone models and 7 iPod touch models — every device Apple has shipped that runs iOS — each with its complete firmware history: build IDs, file sizes, release dates, and direct download links from Apple's servers.

Apple is still signing the releases listed in the chips above — currently headed by iOS 27.0.1 (released September 28, 2026) — plus a handful of legacy builds kept alive for devices that stopped on older versions. Once Apple stops signing a build it can no longer be installed or restored through Finder, iTunes, or the Apple Devices app, although the file stays available here for archival and research.

Frequently asked questions

What is an IPSW file?

An IPSW is the firmware archive Apple publishes for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. It contains the complete system image, which Finder, iTunes, or the Apple Devices app uses over USB to install, restore, or recover a device. Read the iOS installation guide →

Where do the download links come from?

Every link points to Apple's own content servers (updates.cdn-apple.com). dotIPSW does not host or modify firmware files — it indexes the same builds Apple serves and adds build IDs, file sizes, release dates, and checksums. Verify a downloaded IPSW →

How do I find my iPhone model?

Open Settings → General → About and check the Model Name field. The model number (for example A2846) appears on the same screen. Every model has its own firmware page. Look up a model number →

What does "signed" mean for an iOS build?

Apple only permits installing firmware that its servers still sign. A signed build can be restored at any time; once Apple stops signing it, the file can no longer be installed through Finder, iTunes, or the Apple Devices app, even if you already have it. See the iOS signing status →
